The agency, in a July 18, 2016 report written by Canadian swimwear manufacturer China Professor Richard McLaren, found that Russian government officials schemed to hide evidence of doping by its athletes during the Sochi Olympics.

At least two of Baranovs clients with his Spartanik RS sports-management company have been found using performance-enhancing drugs including Lyubov Denisova who took second place among the women in the 2002 New York City Marathon.
The FBI and the Brooklyn US Attorney are also probing Baranov, who lives on the Upper West Side, for bribery and corruption, according to a November 2016 article in The New York Times.
